9:30 AM - Long Island Volunteer Event: Food Sorting with Project Hope
This event is a good opportunity to volunteer your time and give back to the community. The event also serves as a networking/social opportunity given other professionals attending. Project HOPE is an operation of a mobile soup kitchen, food drives, clothing collections and meals served on a bi-monthly basis. Please come to help minister to the hungry, homeless, and unemployed in and around the Huntington area. For more information please contact Rosina at servicecatholicfellowship@gmail.com. (Exit 49N on Long Island Expressway, Exit 32N on Southern State Parkway, Exit 40N on Northern State Parkway.) Route 110 becomes New York Avenue as it crosses Jericho Turnpike (Route 25). 11:00 AM - Summer Fair & BBQ Fundraiser to Repair Church Organ
The Catholic Fellowship of NYC - Chapter at Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx is sponsoring a Summer Fair and BBQ with proceeds going to repair the church organ. The event is held on Saturday July 10th from 11am to 4pm at: Immaculate Conception Church Monastery Garden (enter via the church parking lot) 754 East Gun Hill Road Bronx, NY 10467 www.immaculateongunhill.com Take the #2 subway to Gun Hill Road Station, and walk East (passing White Plains Road) about 2 blocks to the church. 3:30 PM - July Gift Of Love House Volunteer Event
Do unto others! The Gift of Love House needs 2 volunteers every Saturday, from 3:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. There are twelve men with AIDS who live in this house, which is run by the Missionaries of Charity. The work for the day consists of preparing dinner for the men, serving them, and cleaning up afterwards. The dinner usually consists of salad, chicken, and rice. Young Catholic New York Bible Study Series at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturdays of each month - 5:30 P.M: Sunday Vigil Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick, East 50th Street and 5th Ave., N.Y.C. 6:30 P.M: Bible Study and Discussion at the Cathedral Parish House, 14 East 51st Street, N.Y.C. 7:45 P.M: Optional Dinner at a local restaurant for all participants.
